What's on YOUR teacher desk?

" If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?" Albert Einstein

If someone came and sat down at YOUR desk, what would be THREE things on your desk that they would notice?(other than papers that need marking and only one can be a photograph)
Although I have retired from teaching(after 32 1/2 years), many of items that were on my desk are now on my desk where I work at home.
* A marble paperweight that says-"A cluttered desk is a sign of genius"
* A photograph of me when I was in 6th grade(my students always got a chuckle looking at this one).
* Lots of inspirational and teaching items such as a wooden school house with the words," Teachers touch the Future".

Love to hear about your desk!

PurpleAnnie Goest to China:(Resource to use with your students)

When I was in China in 2011, I brought one of the bears a student gave me when I retired. At first I felt a bit self-conscious when I took her out of my backpack to get pics of her at the different sights in China. My tour group eventually started to offer ideas for pictures and at our farewell dinner, requested Purpleannie be in the group picture, too!

Perhaps, your students would like to see her China pictures at my website for teachers and kids:http://gailhennessey.com/index.shtml?purpleanniestravels.html

Always looking for feedback as to whether this idea and information was of value. Next trip, she will be coming along as well.

This is my first try at a book contest and decided to CHANGE the contest. Originally, I said that anyone that purchased my Age of Discovery Webquest between TODAY(Feb. 28th and Sunday night March 3rd) would be eligible to go into a "hat" to win a free sticker book and one buyer would be selected for the free book....NOW, the contest is open to ANY purchase between this time, thinking it opens it up to more of you that might have interest in my materials and purchase one of my resources. Thanks to all for your support!
